2020 Elantra has many features for a reasonable price. It could be your highly sensible choice if you consider its price with those of the competitors with the same features. The Hyundai Company has made the 2020 Elantra even better with a new transmission to increase its fuel efficiency. Its appeal is further enhanced with added safety features and comfort. 2020 Hyundai Elantra comes in six trim offerings from the base SE to the Sport.
SE Trim vs SEL Trim
The SE trim, the only trim to sit on 15” steel wheels, is powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder engine with 147-horse power and 132 lb-ft torque. Continuously variable transmission is new for this year. The standard drive mode includes smart, normal, and sport variations. The entry-level trim has a suite of standard safety features such as forward collision avoidance assist, driver attention monitor, lane-keeping assist, and a blind spot mirror. There are dynamic guidelines for the rearview camera. The tire pressure monitoring system is also included as the standard.
SEL trim is nearly the same as SE except for some minor upgrades like 16” alloy wheels, automatic headline control, heated side mirrors, and a hood insulator. Technological upgrades include Bluetooth voice recognition, MP3 and satellite radio capability, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Driver aids get upgraded, including rear cross-traffic collision warning and blind-spot monitoring system.
Elantra Value Addition
Hands-free smart trunk release and door handle approach lights are the exterior upgrades. The value edition has a power tilt-and-slide sunroof, dual illuminated vanity mirrors, sun visor extensions, one-touch auto auto-up feature for driver’s window, and door handle approach lights, among several more.
Elantra Eco
The 1.4-liter turbocharged engine in this trim generates 128 HP and 156 lb-ft of torque. It has a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Its idle stop and go technology boosts fuel efficiency. The combined EPA estimated of the engine is 36 MPG as against the standard 34 MPG.
Elantra Limited
This is the most luxurious version among Elantra trims. The Limited has turn signal integration for the side mirrors. Projector headlights are replaced with LEDs. Taillights are also LED. The other upgrades include chrome beltline molding and automatic high beams.
Elantra Sport Sedan
The standard six-speed manual transmission is no longer available in the Sport sedan. Instead, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic replaces it. This high-performance model is the only model with a turbocharged 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter engine to access 201 HP with 195 lb-ft of torque.
